Futoška street is the old road running west out of Novi Sad toward Futog, the settlement some 7 km away that Hungarian sources call Futak and German ones Alt-Futok. It was once a single long street reaching from the town centre out to the Futog road, and its inner end became Jevrejska street when the boulevard now called Bulevar Mihajla Pupina was cut through; in the 1930s the whole length, Jevrejska included, was renamed for King Peter II. The building at Futoška 17, put up in 1912 as a Hungarian gymnasium, still stands and houses the Mihajlo Pupin electrical engineering school. The Futoška market on the street remains one of the busiest in the city.
